Electronics may also be recycled at four annual special recycling events.

Electronic computer recycling includes certified data destruction.

Our recycling centers are set up to receive the following household hazardous waste.*

• Sharps in approved containers
• Used motor oil & oil filters up to five gallons per day
• Fire extinguishers
• Latex paint up to five gallons per day
• Chemicals, gasoline, pesticides can be disposed of at the Baseline facility's Household Hazardous Waste area.*

Expired of unwanted prescription & over-the-counter medications from households should never be disposed of by flushing them down the toilet or a drain.

Although this method of disposal prevents accidental ingestion, it can cause contamination to Florida's aquatic environment. This is because wastewater treatment systems are not designed to remove many of these medications.

Seven steps to safety

1. Keep the medicines in the original container. This will help identify the contents if they are accidentally ingested.
2. Mark out your name & prescription number for safety.
3. For pills: add some water or soda to start dissolving them. For liquids: add something inedible like cat litter, dirt or cayenne pepper.
4. Close the lid & secure with duct or packing tape.
5. Place the bottle(s) inside an opaque (non see-through)container like a coffee can or plastic laundry bottle.
6. Tape that container closed.
7. Hide the container in the trash. Do not put in the recycle bin.

• EV (Electric Vehicle batteries) for example from Tesla’s, Toyota Prius and other Electric vehicle models.

All of the following items can be placed in one container for recycling. There’s no need to separate these items by type.

• Newspaper, junk mail, magazines & phone books (no hard-bound books)
• Cardboard (includes soft drink cartons & cereal boxes)
• Plastics labeled # 1 through # 5 and # 7 (no number 6 Styrofoam)
• Aluminum cans, clean aluminum foil, pots & pans
• Tin cans (clean)

Five passenger-sized tires may be disposed at one of the following recycling centers per day:

The recycling centers will accept two cubic yards of residential yard waste per day. Branches must be less than four inches in diameter & less than four feet long.
