The Marion County Utility Authority was created in 1995 pursuant to Chapter 87-460, Laws of Florida and the Marion County Code, appendix A, article XI. This is a citizen advisory board that meets periodically & provides input to the Board of County Commissioners on utility rates & usage issues.

This board has the authority to establish & change the rates/charges for utilities operated by the authority.


Purpose

The purpose of the utility authority is to own & operate utilities in Marion County (Article XI. - Marion County Utility Authority).

The utility authority was created on June 6, 1995.
